Uganda Safari Questions, Answered
When is the best time for a Uganda safari?
The dry seasons, June to September and December to February, are best for gorilla trekking and game viewing as trails are firmer. Uganda is a year-round destination though, and the green seasons bring fewer crowds and lush scenery.
Do you arrange gorilla trekking permits?
Yes. We secure your gorilla (and chimp) permits directly with the Uganda Wildlife Authority as part of your booking. Permits are limited per day, so we recommend enquiring early, especially for peak months.
How fit do I need to be for gorilla trekking?
A reasonable level of fitness helps. Treks can take from 1 to 6+ hours through hilly forest depending on where the gorilla family is. Porters are available to carry your bag and help on steep sections, and we'll match you to a suitable trekking sector.
Is Uganda safe for tourists?
Uganda is known as one of Africa's friendliest countries. You'll be with your private guide throughout, and we monitor conditions on the ground daily. Safety is one of our core guarantees.
Can I combine Uganda with Rwanda, Kenya or Zanzibar?
